The events of Martial Law also found a reflection in fine arts. Numerous of the works that were made then were inspired by current affairs, reflecting reality in a literal or symbolic way. The asylum for independent work - just as in the case of theater - was the church. In temples, parish buildings, and monasteries, exhibitions of paintings, sculpture, and spatial installations were held.
The following photographs of the works of art come from the "Art of martial law" exhibition catalogue. The exhibition was organized by Mariusz Hermansdorfer from the National Museum in Wrocław in 2006.
